BEAUTY FOR ASHES
  Makkie Loots-Jordaan, Klerksdorp, writes:

Today I walked through the very ashes of life - my life! The “ashes” in fact are journals of a “before divorce” life on a hot, humid, scorching island, situated in the Northern Cape’s “Groot Rivier.”
As the data unfolds, written by my own hand, merciless buckets of unshed tears followed the spirit in me - called me to a mirror-view of myself. For I suddenly realised - the river of tears are for those who almost succeeded in the killing of my soul by their very words and deeds.
But now it is tears of wonder that only full, unconditional forgiveness can bring forth.. Yea, even my mouth-worded prayers of mercy and His complete abundance upon them…
“They could not have done it on purpose, Lord! Please forgive them - like I do now! Save them, oh, just save them!”
In the ashes I found peace that has no norm of understanding. It generates His gladness and joy and shines through the pain that was...
To love and to forgive - these are deeds of my will - not of feeling, but of wilful decision because You taught me to forgive as You have forgiven all sinners.
Thank you, Jesus! At the age of fifteen, I sought You. I listened when You taught me. I often fell on my face but were again picked up by Your grace - even unto this very moment!
“Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls”] (Matthew 11:28, The Amplified Bible).
“Come to Me and I will give you rest - all of you who work so hard beneath a heavy yoke. Wear My yoke - for it fits perfectly - and let Me teach you; for I am gentle and humble, and you shall find rest for your souls; for I give you only light burdens” (Matthew 11:28-30, Life Application Bible).
