A FEW DAYS TO LIVE
Dano and Prem were locked in a room. For three hours a madman screamed at them, “Deny Jesus! Give up your religion!”
Hours before, on the streets of an east Indian village, Dano and Prem passed out Gospel tracts and told people about Jesus. Suddenly a member of a militant anti-Christian group drew out a weapon. He forced the two missionaries into his house and locked them in a room. He would not let them out until they renounced their faith in Christ.
When they refused, the man grabbed their bags of Gospel literature, dumped everything on the floor and demanded they trample on it. But the missionaries would not obey, even when the man began to beat them. “Jesus is our Lord,” they said, “and we will not deny Him!”
By the grace of God, the man gave up and let them go. Just as they were leaving the village, they met an elderly woman and shared the Gospel with her. She was so touched by the Good News that she received Jesus Christ right there on the roadside. Excited about her salvation, she went home to tell her friends and family. From the witness of that one woman alone, 60 people came to Christ, and a church was born.
Despite opposition and persecution, Dano and Prem didn’t give up. They are just two of 13 500 Gospel for Asia native missionaries who are reaching many for Christ!
