SERVING THE LORD IN SINGLENESS OF MIND

That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; He is a double-minded man.” A double-minded man is a person who is drawn in two opposite directions. He hesitates, is dubious, unstable, unreliable and uncertain about everything he thinks, feels and decides. The Lord delivered the Israelites from out of Egypt where they were slaves and Moses led them into the wilderness. The people continually complained to Moses when they were confronted with crises. EXODUS 14:12: “Is this not the word that we told you in Egypt saying, ‘Let us alone that we may serve the Egyptians? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than we should die in the wilderness!’” They were double-minded, for they wanted to hold on to Egypt instead of holding on to God. EXODUS 16:2-3: “Then the whole congregation of the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness, and the children of Israel said to them, ‘Oh, that we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt.’” They kept looking back to Egypt because of there unbelief. WE NEED TO BELIEVE AND NOT HAVE UNBELIEF! PHILIPPIANS 3:13: Paul writes to the Philippians: “But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead.” KEEP LOOKING UP AND YOU WILL NEVER WANT TO LOOK BACK! 1 KINGS 18:21: “Elijah went before the people and said, ‘How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; But if Baal is God, follow Him.’” Elijah placed a clear choice before the people. TO TURN AWAY FROM GOD IS TO TURN AWAY FROM LIFE AND TO CHOOSE DEATH! You have the choice to REJECT or ACCEPT serving God. God wants first place in your life! DEUTERONOMY 6:5: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength: This is a command from the Lord.” DRAW NEAR UNTO GOD AND HE WILL DRAW NEAR UNTO YOU! JAMES 4:6: “God opposes the PROUD, but gives grace to the HUMBLE.” How blessed are the people whose God is the Lord! How blessed are you, when all your confidence is in the One who made heaven and earth. Blessed are you when everything is dependant on the goodness, mercy, grace and strength in the one supreme God, Who loves you and delights in you! Choose to follow Christ! Sponsored by TG Traders
