HEBREWS 4

For whatever God says to us is full of living power; it is sharper than the sharpest dagger, cutting swift and deep into our innermost thoughts and desires with all their parts, exposing us for what we really are. He knows about everyone, everywhere. Everything about us is bare and wide open to the all-seeing eyes of our living God; nothing can be hidden from Him to whom we must explain all that we have done. [Hebrews 4:12,13 - Life Application Bible]. The Word of God is not merely words from God, a vehicle for communicating ideas; it is living, life-changing, and dynamic as it works in us. With the incisiveness of a surgeon's knife, it reveals who we are and what we are not. It discerns what is within us, both good and evil. We must not only listen to the Word; we must let it shape our lives! Since nothing can be hidden from God, He sees all we do and knows all we think. Even when we are unaware of His presence, even when we try to hide from Him, He knows. We can have no secrets from Him. Remarkably, though He knows us intimately, He still loves us. Jesus mediates between God and us. As man's Representative, He intercedes for us before God. As God's Representative, He assures us of God's forgiveness. Come, let's talk this over! says the Lord; no matter how deep the stain of your sins, I can take it out and make you as clean as freshly fallen snow.
