THE WAY TO A NEW LIFE

In John 3:7 Jesus said, “You must be born again.” “Being born again” or “saved” is simply entering into a personal and dynamic relationship with the living Lord Jesus Christ, letting Him forgive your sins and impart new life into you by abiding in you. Forgive my sins? But I’m really good! Romans 3:23 states, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” The penalty for sin: “The soul will die” (Ezekiel 18:4). This is spiritual death - excluded from heaven and God. So I realize that I am a sinner, to be excluded from heaven for eternity. What am I to do now? 1. Confess to God that you are a sinner! 1 John 1:9 states, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 2. Jesus died to pay the price for our sins. We need to believe in Him! In John 3:16 we read, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal LIFE.” Re-read this verse putting your own name in place of the word “whosoever”. 3. Receive Him into your life by faith! In John 1:12 we find, “But as many as received Him, to them gave He the right to become the children of God, even to them that believe in His Name.” 4. Confess that Jesus is Lord! Romans 10:9 declares, “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.” Right now, pray a simple prayer telling the Lord that you have sinned and broken His laws. Thank Jesus that He died in your place, so that your sins are forgiven. Welcome Him into your life as Lord and Master and in simple faith believe that you have received Him. You are now a child of God, not because you feel different, but because the Word says so! Now you need to talk to God in prayer and read the Bible daily in order to develop this relationship which you have just begun. Please join other believers for fellowship and encouragement.
