YOU WILL REAP WHAT YOU SOW

Fearing for his life, he left home, and went to stay with his uncle Laban. There he fell in love with Laban’s youngest daughter, Rachel. Gen. 29:20,21 - “So Jacob served Laban for seven years and then said to him, ‘Give me my wife’. So when evening came, Laban DECEIVED Jacob by bringing his oldest daughter, Leah to him.” Was Jacob not reaping what he had sown? However, God is merciful when we repent, and in His love blesses us: Gen. 31:41,42 “Jacob says to Laban, ‘I have been in your house twenty years. I have served you fourteen years for your two daughters and six years for your flock, and you changed my wages ten times. If the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had not been with me, you would surely have sent me away empty-handed. But God has seen my hardship and the toil of my hands, and last night He rebuked you.’” Jacob repented and sowed good service to Laban. Therefore, God protected him from Laban’s deception and blessed him. In Gen. 32:26 “Jacob replied ‘I will not let you go unless you bless me.’” Jacob finally let go of his own devices to obtain favour, and acknowledged GOD AS THE ONLY SOURCE OF BLESSING! Gal. 6:7-10 - “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” Begin to sow in the Spirit. Only then will you experience FULFILMENT and know the LOVE AND MERCY OF GOD.
