"Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellow-men has fulfilled the law. The commandments, 'Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not covet,' and whatever other com-mandments there may be are summed up in this one rule: 'Love your neighbour as yourself'" (Romans 13:8-9).

There is ONE fact that the Bible is so clear about that it can never become a subject of controversy: God's will is that His children should love one another. All the com-mandments are summed up in one command: that we should love our neighbour as we love ourselves. "Therefore love is the fulfiment of the law," Paul writes in Romans 13:10.

We OWE one another the very same love that God bestows on us. It is an "unnatural" kind of love, one not rooted in our emotions or feelings; it is a deed of sacrifice that puts the glory of God and the interests of others above everything else.

If we succeed in loving other people with God's unselfish love, we uphold the entire law of God at the same time. For if we truly love others, we will not spread lies about them, steal their possessions, slander their name, covet their wives / husbands, or take their lives.

This love will enable you to love others, no matter how they treat you. If God's love reigns supreme in your life, you will look at others in the same way as Jesus looks at you.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray that You will help me to pay my daily debt of love that I owe others, because I know this is the way to uphold all Your commandments.
