Pastor Bill Marks, Christian Fellowship, Potchefstroom, (018) 293 1608 or 079 311 6515 Psalm 33:3 - "Sing to Him a New song, play skilfully with a shout of joy." The major ingredient of the Old Testament worship was the singing of Psalms. Praise is to be an every day part of our lives, no matter what is happening, whether we are having low moments or high moments. Our focus is to stay on God. Every believer on earth faces his/her private wars and the truth is - we all want out of the war. There was a woman who was suffering from a life-long respiratory (breathing) condition. This had become such a force within her that it dominated her life. She had tried every known medication and even changes in climate did not help to improve her condition. In desperation she began to praise and thank God for her healing. Within her soul, there welled up an inward joy as she continued to praise God more and more! She became excited about the spiritual change that took place in her life. She began to breathe normally again and was filled with an inner peace, and with the assurance that God loves her. Psalm 34:3 - "O, magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt His Name together." In the midst of your war/struggle/illlness, magnify the Lord. Declare in you heart: LORD, I BELIEVE! Read Acts 16:22-26. Verse 25-26: "But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly God's presence was there and a great earthquake began to shake the prison foundations. The doors flew open and everyone's chains were loosened." This account shows that when we decide to praise God in the midst of our problems and heartaches, a miracle happens which transforms our lives! It is noteworthy that St. Augustine said: “To sing is to praise twice.” Sponsored by TG TRADERS |
