ETERNAL LIFE

It costs you nothing "For the wages which sin pays is death, but the [bountiful] FREE GIFT of God is eternal life through (in union with) Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23 Amplified Bible). In fact, you cannot buy it "WAIT and listen, everyone who is thirsty! Come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Yes, come, buy [priceless, spiritual] wine and milk without money and WITHOUT PRICE" (Isaiah 55:1 Amplified Bible). Neither can you work for it "For it is by FREE GRACE (God's unmerited favour) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ's salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the GIFT OF GOD; NOT BECAUSE OF WORKS [not the fulfilment of the Law's demands], lest any man should boast. [It is not the result of what anyone can possibly do, so no one can pride himself in it or take glory to himself.]" (Ephesians 2:8,9 Amplified Bible). You cannot afford to be without it "For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his life [in the eternal kingdom of God]? For what can a man give as an exchange (a compensation, a ransom, in return) for his [blessed] life [in the eternal kingdom of God]?" (Mark 8:36-37 Amplified Bible). We can have certainty about possessing it "I write this to you who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) the Name of the Son of God... so that you may KNOW [with settled and absolute knowledge] that you [already] have life, yes, eternal life" (1 John 5:13 Amplified Bible).
