“Millions of money for an inch of time!” cried Elizabeth, the gifted but ambitious queen of England upon her dying bed. Unhappy woman, reclining upon a couch, with ten thousand dresses in her wardrobe, a kingdom on which the sun never sets, at her feet - all now valueless; and she shrieked in anguish and she shrieked in vain for a single “inch of time”. She had enjoyed seventy years.
