BRAZIL: CHRISTIANS TAKE TO THE STREETS!

Evangelical events in Latin America are among the largest on the planet.

Take Brazil's annual 'March for Jesus' in Sao Paulo, which gathered an estimated 350 000 Christians this year. "This is a celebration for having the freedom to show our faith, and living with joy because of Christ's work of salvation for us and in us," one of the leaders said.

Evangelical Christians have grown into an increasingly powerful political force in Brazil. Many pastors have been working in remote areas and in slums, gaining influence that the Government does not have.

Brazil's President, Michel Temer, is a Christian who has been enjoying support from Evangelical groups. In exchange, he took two Evangelical pastors to his cabinet - one for trade, the other for labour.
