REVIVAL HITS WEST VIRGINIAN SCHOOLS

Reports are pouring in from West Virginia of a spiritual awakening that began in the schools and is now spilling over into the towns. The large sports complex known as the Field House in Williamson has been packed with people of all ages crying out for God! The revival is seeing hundreds of students giving their hearts to Jesus. Pastor Mitch Bias, with the regional Church of God in Del-barton, said prayer, plus desperation, have paved the way for this spiritual breakthrough among the young people.

Billy Carrico of Bethel Temple Assembly in Nolan said the spiritual atmosphere in his region is so ripe that doors are opening naturally. "In restaurants people are talking about God. Every church is being affected." Many healings have also been reported. Youth pastors are now planning ways to disciple the flock of converts. "This move couldn't have come at a better time," says Carrico. "Economic conditions are tough in the region. Unemployment is around 14 percent, and many kids are involved in drug use and crime."

Local leaders estimate that more than 2 000 people have accepted Jesus Christ as their Saviour since late March 2016. Social media has helped spread the word, with students announcing preaching plans at their schools on Facebook, Twitter and other platforms. Many are sharing praise reports and answers to prayer!
