This region was made up of 10 Greek towns, and many living in this area were non-Jews. Mark 7:32: "Then they brought to Him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech, and they begged Him to put His hand on him." The people had a preconception of how Jesus is to heal the man. They said, "Just lay Hands on him." In 2 Kings 5 we encounter Naaman, a general of the Syrian Army, who had leprosy. His Israeli housemaid told him about Elisha who had the power from God to heal people. Naaman then went to Elisha, but was not impressed by his answer. We note in verse 11 that Naaman had a preconception of how he should receive his healing. However, his servants persuaded him to obey Elisha’s instructions: "So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean" (2 Kings 5:14). Naaman was healed when he obeyed God's voice. To hear God's voice doesn't mean just to hear with your ears. It means to respond obediently to what He says. We are certainly living in very troubled times and we need to hear the voice of God today. If you want to hear God's voice, do as Hebrews 4:7 says, "Do not harden your heart." A hardened heart is those who sin, but feel they don't have to ask God’s forgiveness. We also need to forgive. Only then will we be able to hear God's voice. (Matt. 6:12). JESUS WAS FOCUSED. Hearing the voice of God is not a formula, it is a relationship. The secret of Jesus' ministry was the continuous relationship which He had with His Father. John 5:19: "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by Himself. He can only do what He sees His Father doing..." By having times of devotion with the Lord, you will acquire the sensitivity to hear the Voice of the Holy Spirit. Look unto Jesus and remain focused. John 10:27: "My sheep listen to My Voice. I know them and they follow Me." LET US PRAY: Lord Jesus, I want to hear Your Voice. I surrender my life, my church, my ministry to You. Guide me by Your word and truth. AMEN! If you now quietly listen to His Voice, He will speak to you! EXPECT A MIRACLE TODAY! Sponsored by: TG TRADERS |
