A BATTLE TO FIGHT

Pastor Bill Marks, Christian Fellowship, Potchefstroom, (018) 293 1608 or 079 311 6515 While having fellowship with a German man in January this year, he related the following incident: During World War II they were 30 km from Moscow and unknowningly, he entered a church building. He said that the priest prayed in an unknown language and when he walked out of the church, three tanks, which he had never seen before, drove past. The men on the tanks saluted him as they went past. I told him that I believe it was the Lord that showed him that day that he didn’t have to fear, because God would protect him. Two years ago this man came to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour at the age of 82. The Holy Spirit revealed God’s grace and protection to him after so many years! Isaiah 52:12 - "For the Lord will go before you." Indeed, God will also fight for and protect every one of His children! 1 Kings 20:23 - "Meanwhile, the officials of the king of Aram advised him, ‘Their gods are gods of the hills. That is why they were too strong for us. But if we fight them on the plains, surely we will be stronger than they.’" The battle between Israel and the Syrians apparently took place in the Jordan Valley. The Syrians did not deny that the God of Israel was the God of the hills, but they believed that if they fought Israel in the valley, they would overcome them. Verse 27: "Now the children of Israel encamped before them like two little flocks of goats, while the Syrians filled the countryside." If you looked with natural eyes, Israel was totally outnumbered. However, when God is with you, you are a majority! The Lord is present at all places, at all times. HE IS ONMIPRESENT. So allow the Holy Spirit to become your eyes and ears when you are moving forward in battle and at the DIVINE OPPORTUNITY, strike the enemy with Divine wisdom. Verse 28-29: "The man of God came up and told the king of Israel and said, ‘God will deliver this great multitude in your hands and you shall know that I AM THE LORD.’ So on the 7th day the battle was joined and the children of Israel killed 100 000 foot soldiers of the Syrians in one day." God’s children prevailed! God will also be triumphant in the final battle between Good and Evil. Micah 4:1 - "Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains and shall be exalted above the hills, and the peoples shall flow to it." The Prophet Micah is prophesying that in the last days the Kingdom of God will be lifted above all other kingdoms in this world. If you are entrenched in any way by the battles you are fighting, remember YOU ARE NOT ALONE! The battle is the Lord’s, and He has given YOU the WISDOM AND POWER to overcome and be VICTORIOUS!
