GOD KNOWS ALL ABOUT YOU | |

Pastor Bill Marks, Christian Fellowship, Potchefstroom, (018) 293 1608 or 079 311 6515 I am sure that as you go through life you know some people more intimately than others, and it makes it so much easier for you to share your innermost feelings with them. Psalm 139:1 - "O Lord, you have searched me and you KNOW me." David is saying here that the Lord KNOWS ALL about him. He is omniscient. He is ALL-KNOWING. Psalm 139:2 - "You KNOW when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar." Just to think that before I even think of something, God KNOWS about it. I know of a woman who was so deeply hurt by a man that she said to herself, "No man will ever hurt me again." God KNEW about that thought and since then the Lord has healed her. She is now able to trust men again. GOD'S THOUGHTS TOWARDS US ARE GOOD THOUGHTS Psalm 139:3 - "You comprehend my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways." David is saying that the Lord is familiar with all his ways/deeds. Genesis 3:6,7 - "When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realised they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves." Eve, by an act of her will, wanted to know what God had not revealed to her and through the deception of the serpent, she took of the tree’s fruit and ate. After eating the fruit, they knew that they were naked and sewed fig leaves together, so that they could cover themselves. THEY HAD LOST THE COVERING OF GOD'S GLORY Genesis 3:21 - "The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them." The Word of God does not reveal to us what type of animal God killed, but He made tunics of skin and covered them. God's first sacrifice covered them with animal blood. God was declaring that their sins were atoned for (Leviticus 17:11). It is the blood that makes an atonement for the soul. Exodus 3:7 - "And the Lord said, ‘I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I KNOW their sorrows. " God KNEW the sorrows of the Israelites. The Hebrew word for KNOW is YADA. It is to recognize, to acknowledge, to KNOW intimately. Exodus 12:13 - "And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt." The blood of sacrificial animals was used regularly as an offering for sin. Psalm 139:4 - "Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord." Before you even speak, God KNOWS it completely. David says: "You know me perfectly and You are personally involved in my life." Matthew 10:29,30 - "Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered." Today, the shed blood of Jesus atones for our sins. The Hebrew word for atonement is KAPHAR meaning: to "cover", to "clean" and to "cleanse". Trust in the Lord and ask Him to cover You with His blood. Psalm 139:5-6 - "Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it." REMEMBER: JESUS LOVES YOU. WHILE YOU WERE YET A SINNER, CHRIST DIED FOR YOU! Sponsored by: TG TRADERS |
