REMARKABLE PRAYER INTERVENTION FOR TWR MISSIONARIES

Trans World Radio missionaries, Doug and Madeleen Schumacher, were viciously hijacked and kidnapped at gunpoint in Johannesburg on October 23, 2007. The Schumachers had just arrived from overseas to visit another missionary family when a carload of thugs pulled in behind them and forced them into the backseat of their own car. The two thieves drove off and for the next 20 minutes told the Schumachers that they intended to kill them. Because someone witnessed and immediately reported the kidnapping, a worldwide e-mail went out to TWR staff and friends around the globe, asking for prayer for the couple. Meanwhile, other TWR Africa missionaries drove around and scoured the area for any signs of their captured colleagues. Amazingly, the driver of the Schumachers' car told the couple: "Someone must be praying for you. We've decided to let you go." The thieves dumped them 50 kilometres from home.
