An evangelist could not convince a lady that all the good things she did would not avail in God’s sight. Being very wealthy, she gave a supper to some poor people, and also provided clothes for them. Inspiration struck the evangelist, and he said to her: "If one of the guests thanked you for the clothes, but said, ‘I must make some small return and rolled up his own clothes in a parcel and ask you to accept them in return, would you be pleased?"
