GOD IS NEVER TOO LATE!

Debbie Schäffler (018) 468 5079 My husband Joseph and I struggled for a long period of time to conceive. We tried several fertility remedies ranging from fertility drugs to homeopathic remedies. We ran from one doctor to the next out of sheer desperation. Eventually we considered in vitro fertilisation. This was our last alternative. This process is an invasive and extremely costly and emotional procedure. Finally we made an appointment at the Vitalab in Johannesburg on 26 July 2005. The day before our appointment, I attended a Bible Study Group meeting held by Pastor Melinda Smith for the first time. (Every Wednesday morning a group of women from different denominations get together to worship and study the Word). After worshipping the Lord and powerful teaching, Melinda suggested that we pray that God will have His way with regard to the in vitro. The following morning we arrived at the Vitalab not knowing what to expect. The doctor carefully explained the procedure and recommended that I first go for blood tests to make sure that there are no hormonal imbalances that could negatively affect the success of the procedure. A few days later I went for the blood test only to find out that I was nearly four weeks pregnant! Throughout my entire pregnancy, I quoted a Scripture that my brother, Pastor Allan Fielding, gave to me before he even knew that I was pregnant - Exodus 23:25,26: "You shall serve the Lord your God, He shall bless your bread and water, and I will take sickness from your midst. None shall lose her young by miscarriage or be barren in your land. I will fulfil the number of your days." Joseph Conner Schäffler was born on 11 April 2006. Our hearts are so grateful to God for blessing us with a perfectly normal and healthy son. We would also like to thank all the people who fasted and prayed for us throughout the pregnancy.
