'n Seun wou by sy pa weet hoe groot God is.
Sy pa sê vir hom dat hy hom die volgende
dag sal wys as hulle Johannesburg toe ry.

So dertig kilometer van die stad af, hou
hulle op 'n hoogte stil en die pa wys die kind
die Strijdom-toring. Hy vra hom hoe groot
die toring is. Die outjie meet toe die toring
so op 'n afstand tussen sy duim en
voorvinger en verduidelik vir sy pa dat dít is
hoe groot die toring is.

Hulle klim in die motor en ry verder. In die
stad gekom, ry die twee tot teenaan die
toring. Die seun staan hom en verwonder
aan die massiewe toring waarteen hy
opkyk. Sy pa vra hom toe om weer die toring
te meet. Vol verwondering sê hy vir sy pa
dat hy dit nie meer kan doen nie omdat die
toring nou té groot is!

Sy pa sê toe vir hom: "My kind, so is dit ook
met God. Hoe verder jy van Jesus af leef,
hoe kleiner word God vir jou en jy meet Hom
soos dit jou pas. Hoe nader jy aan Jesus
lewe, hoe groter word God vir jou. Dan meet
jy Hom nie meer nie, maar aanbid Hom met
